This is our future. Our ridiculously stupid future.

For decades, we’ve been told that, in the future, robots will do our jobs for us. This has turned out to be (relatively) true, but the reality is a lot less fun than the cartoons made it look. In real life, you still have to vacuum the apartment and cook your own meals, but the acceleration of technology means that you now do the job of three people while getting paid just barely enough to cover your rent. How fun!

For the most part, these “robots” aren’t really robots either, but a series of computers, algorithms and other technologies that make certain tasks easier. Occasionally, however, you stumble across a real, honest-to-God robot — and even more occasionally, that robot has a robot of its own.
